Our Story
A message from the founder:
Saltless Gourmet started from a bad bottle of store-bought Montreal steak spice. I used the steak spice to cook a beautiful medium rare steak, but the steak was way overseasoned with little flavor.
To my surprise, the first ingredient of the Montreal steak spice was salt. Right after it, was sugar. My $9 bottle of steak spice from a major brand turned out to be half filled with salt.
This didn't make much sense. Everybody has salt in their kitchen cabinets, why would I need salt in my spices?
And so, Saltless Gourmet was born. It's not to dislike salty foods, but for spices to just be spices. To be able to create your culinary visions as a chef and have control over the seasoning. And of course, to get the value you deserve from the products you buy.
Without fillers or added salt or sugar, every recipe only requires a touch of our spice mix, giving you greater value and control over your recipes.
